Patriotic Fruit Skewers {Holiday Recipe Club: 4th of July}

Happy 4th of July, everyone!

I hope you all are enjoying a day off of work, your independence, spending time with family and friends, playing {safely} with fireworks, and good food, of course!

Let me help you out a little with that one...

Here's a nice little patriotic snack or treat for the kids, or heck, for yourself.

It's super simple. Adorable. And tasty!

I hadn't realized that marshmallows and strawberries go together well.

Patriotic Fruit Skewers
  • 1 pint strawberries, rinsed and dried
  • Star shaped mini marshmallows
  • 1 pint blueberries, rinsed and dried
  • Wooden skewers
Thread strawberries, marshmallows and blueberries onto the wooden skewers in whatever red, white and blue pattern you like.

I am joining in over at this month's Holiday Recipe Club for the 4th of July - the ingredients were blueberries, barbeque sauce, and whipped cream. {As you can see, I chose blueberries.}

Peace, and bacon grease!

What a darling idea! I made patriotic fruit kebobs and added star-shaped pieces of patriotic angel food cake. Any way you look at it - these are very inviting and a healthy snack too. Thanks for linking up at Weekend Potluck.

Very cute! I can't believe I haven't seen these star marshallows--I'm so oblivious! Wish I could have joined this holiday posting since it's the last one for a while, but I'm having fun visiting everyone elses. :)

What a great idea! I'm glad some people are still posting patriotic recipes. They can be used for parties all through the summer right up to Labor Day.
I did mine on "Navy Star Cookies" at Ann's Food on Fridays. Patriotic also.
Blessings,
Janis

Love food blog challenges, like the SRC? Why not join me in “Taste and Create”…

Taste&Create was started as a food event by Nicole from For the Love of Food. It’s whole purpose was, and has been, to create a community of bloggers who test each others’ recipes and share links. It has also been to help new and not so well known bloggers get their foot in the door of the foodie community.
